Living your life to leave a lasting legacy starts TODAY.

Picture
When you go you work today, what legacy are you building?

You will find we ask our clients this question on a regular basis.

Why? Because firstly we want people to look deep within themselves - to go below the surface image of their success and into the core of what they really wanted and are passionate for.

In business, as in life, most people settle for the obtainable- the acceptable.  There is often nothing wrong with this in the short term. But when it really matters is when a person reaches a crisis on their life journey and ask themselves: What did I do with my life?  Or How did I end up here?

Now this might be despite the fact that they are successful in their business, perhaps even wealthy of famous are well respected. But is it what they dreamed they would do - or is it the result of the years of conformity and expectations placed on us (from self, family and others).

When we look at success we often look at FINANCIAL success.  Sometimes POSITIONAL success i.e. how high did we go in our careers.

But an increasing number of people, successful people, are starting to question if that success was enough. Was it all worth it and what did I miss out on?

What about FUN being a measure of success? Or FULFILMENT? Or being a positive INFLUENCE on our society or sphere of influence?  Even our LEGACY can be a measurement of success - How will we be remembered? My point is most people measure their success on a limited scale.

I am financially and positionally successful - 2/2 ain’t bad. But on the wider scale of fulfilment and satisfaction with our lives - most will come up short and find ourselves ticking 2-3 of the boxes and leaving 3-4 unchecked.  Instead of a 100% success we will find ourselves at 20-30% and feeling unsatisfied at some point in our lives.

How did I find myself here and did I make a difference?

I’m 55 years old and asking myself these questions.  For the second time in my life! Because my work is only part of who I am and it's definitely not the only thing I want to be remembered for.

At Winners Circle, we are interested in the person behind the business or role. What is it YOU dream of?  What is YOUR passion?  How can we lift you "out" of your role and assist you build what you dreamed of when you started.

Yes we can offer all the business support and advice and encouragement you need in your business. We can help with planning and operational and processes and marketing.

But why not invest in your greatest asset? You and your team.

Invest in them and much of your processes WILL improve, sales WILL improve, client retention WILL improve, the bottom line WILL improve, staff engagement WILL improve, fun and workplace enjoyment WILL improve.

What is success?  Right now? I would suggest its building into you and your team so that they feel valued, appreciated, empowered.  They enjoy their jobs and contribute to the company's success.  They are happy at home with families and their future because they are treated as people and respected for who they are more than just the job they do.

As a manager, a leader or the owner of a business or organisation - surely that is a great feeling of satisfaction?  To invest in people, to build a viable and growing business, to be aware of life and family responsibilities, to add value to the community and to build a business that partners with those demands.  To be respected as a great boss - both as a leader and as someone who cares about more than just the bottom line.

Maybe we need to look at SUCCESS differently and save ourselves the 55+ self analysis.  Rather than getting to 55 and realise we have missed the boat, let's consider changing our definition of success today so we can guide our own progress and achieve the wider definition we have in our hearts  - the one that brings satisfaction and fulfilment now as well as a lasting legacy for the future.
